Fitness tip of the day: Get Your Rest.
Now, more than ever before, we modern day humans are
some of the busiest people ever.
With career, family, home duties, recreation, and any little hobbies you
might have in that smidgen of time you have left, you expend a lot of energy. A life
on the go drains your body more than you realize. By the end of the day, you are
completely spent.
One way to make sure that you stay running at optimum capacity and
efficiency is to make sure that your body get the rest it needs, when it needs.
I'm big on naps. If you can at all mamage it, a half hour to hour
nap in the middle of the day helps recharge brain cells, restore energy to peak levels,
and also helps to decrease stress. The experts recommend a 20 to 40 minute nap every
day. I wholeheartedly agree.
Also, at the end of the day, make sure to go to bed early enough to start your next day
off with your body fully rested and ready for the day's tasks. Anywhere from 6 to
8.5 hours is considered sufficient, and the exact amount of sleep you need varies from
person to person. Figure out the right amount for yourself, and try to make sure you
stick to a consistent sleep schedule and pattern as much as you can. You will find
that getting the rest you need, both in the middle of the day and at night will have you
looking better, feeling better, and infused with more energy than you'll know what to do
with!
